People of all ages taking in sports. Sports
are fun for adults sports are a relaxation from their daily
work. Some people like sports which give them a lot of exercise.
Other prefer sports which make them think. some games can
be played by one person. Team sports need fast action and
team work. Team work teaches people how to work with others
towards a common goal. People all over the world enjoy playing
games such as foot ball, Cricket, Baseball, Basket ball,
Hockey and Ice Hockey.

Sports teach sportsman-ship, A Good sportsmen is a Person
who can win without boasting and who can accept defeat with
good grace. Games after all are not games they are games.
Games are also rituals, patterns and symbols of life.
Health and prosperity of the nation is reflected in the
activi-ties and programs. That are carried out and in which
masses are found engaged in. The more the constructive,
concrete, and crea-tive nature of these activities in maintained,
the better and still better and put can be anticipated in
terms of health and prosperity of the people.

Samartha Ramdas Swami Kreeda Mandir consists of (indoor
sports complex) 21 thousand sq. feet area.
* Table Tennis Halls with latest fast tales (4 nos.) and
quality rackets and balls.
* Chess/carrom rooms.
* Yoga hall.
* Multi- Gym (Health Centre) with modern Gym equipments
cost of about Rs. 7 lakhs.
* NCC/NSS/Sports/Co-curricular activities office.
* Two Badminton Courts (fully cemented and gallery for 500
spectators)
For Outdoor sports 18 Acres of land has been dedicated
which includes:
* Two Volley Ball courts (with flood lights).
* Kabaddi Ground.
* Three Lawn Tennis courts (2 clay and 1 hard court).
* Khokho field.
* Foot Ball ground.
* Hand Ball ground.
* Basket Ball court (fully cemented with fibre glass board).
* 400 mtrs Running Track (proposed).
* Cricket field (proposed).
* Ball Badminton Ground.
* Open space for double bar and single ball (2 pairs).

In SSGMCE which is complete institute in
itself. allround per-sonality development is given due importance
and as such many sports and cultural activities through
out the year to make the students more capable and to equip
them with innovative talents in the best possible manner,
to face the challenges and tomorrow boldly. The college
always encourages the student and particup-ants and appreciate
their better performance.

The College has 83 color holders so far
(students participated in the Inter-University Championships
on behalf of Amravati University) on the board (from 1987
to 1999-2000 session).
The students of this College has bagged 41 Championships
at University level in Amravati University Inter Collegiate
Championship held every year (from 1987 to 1999-2000).

Miss Sheetal Laddha of MBA own the Silver Medal in Inter
University Badminton (W) Championship which was held at
Indore in 1998-99.
Maximum students were appointed as the Captain of various
games and sports activities of the University (at Inter
University level).

Mr. Mangesh Pakhale of second year Electrical
has selected to represent Maharashtra Hand Ball Team in
the National Champion-ship which was held at Vishakhapattanam
in the year 1999-2000.
Atleast 5 events of the Amravati University every year
are organised in the college campus.
Subrato Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament (State Level)
were organised in the session 1997-98. 200 students took
part in the competition (7 divisions for school boys).
State Level (school) Wrestling Championship
was held at Samartha Ramdas Swami Kreeda Mandir in the year
1998-1999. 250 students from all over Maharashtra participated
in the tourna-ment.
From the session 1998-99 college has been conducting
the Total Personality Development Camp (for the school going
child-ren) in the College Campus successfully. Almost 150 students
participated in the camp covering 13 districts.

INTRA COLLEGE CONTESTS
HELD DURING THE YEAR 1999-2000
Apart from the Inter-Collegiate Sports Competition, Annual
Sports Meet is held every year in which interclass matches
are held. It marks an excitin period of over one week. In
this contests students given excellent performance in many
team event like Volley Ball, Foot Ball, Hand Ball, Basket
Ball. About 250 students won prizes in the various sports
events dueing th Annual Sports Meet. Annual Sports Meet
is organized by the Sport Director.

In the beginning of the session college
has formed the sports council for the smooth conduction

All sports activities will run under
the sports council. Staff members are appointed as incharges
for various games and sports activities at our college
in order to have their active involvement in the games
and sports activities. On the days of National Festivals
viz. 15th August and 26th January the staff is exposed
to sports. On 12th January on account of Swami Vivekanand's
jayanti various types of Games competitions are conducted
for staff members. In order to keep the children of staff
physically fit, they are being trained every day. The
staff is always welcomed to take part in dday to day games
and use the infrastructure for need be.
